buying and framing originals

Once a pastel or charcoal piece is finished, the surface is ‘fixed’ with a professional fixative, however loose particles inevitably still remain so care must be taken handling any original work.

When you purchase an original pastel painting or charcoal drawing, it will arrive carefully packaged in a smooth, glossy, translucent paper that is highly resistant to air, water and grease and is therefore protective of the delicate surface. Please keep your original stored flat in this protective wrap until you are ready to take it to a professional framer.

Framing original pastel paintings requires protecting the delicate pigment by preventing direct contact with glass and allowing small amounts of dust to fall away. Key steps include never placing the pastel surface directly onto glass, using archival matting, employing spacers to create a gap between the artwork and the glazing, and using PH neutral materials to prevent degradation.

If living locally to Lisa in South Bucks, Emerald Frames in Chalfont St Peter is highly recommend.

buying limited edition fine art prints

All fine art giclée prints are professionally printed on beautiful Hahnemühle Museum Etching heavyweight 350gsm paper, using archival-quality pigment inks, by an award-winning and Hahnemühle Platinum Certified Studio UK printer.

Each print is hand signed with the artist's name and print edition number and then directly from the studio along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Size listed includes the white border. Frames are not included.

Limited edition prints are printed on demand. Once the set number is sold, the image is retired, often increasing the value and desirability of these prints. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, an official document that certifies that the artwork is genuine and created by the person declared on the certificate. It includes essential details about the artwork and also directly supports the limited edition giclée print by endorsing their authenticity and enhancing their value.

Please note that any prints that say ‘open edition’ will not be limited to a set number of prints.
